Wyoming Valley Challenger Little League Baseball

Wyoming Valley Challenger is a part of Challenger Little League Baseball. The league is run by a group of dedicated VOLUNTEERS. They donate a great deal of valuable time in meeting to conduct business year round, in addition to the work involved with setting up and conducting the games. We WELCOME anyone who wishes to get involved and help organize and run the league. It is rewarding.

The Challenger Division was established in 1989 as is Little League's adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and mental challenges. Any individual with a physical or intellectual challenge may participate. If am individual can participate in the traditional Little League Baseball or Softball program with reasonable accomodations they should do so. The Little League Challenger Division accomodates players ages 4 to 18; or up to age 22 if still enrolled in school. The Senior League Challenger Division accommodates players ages 15 and above (no maximum age).

AllOne Charities Awards Grant to Hall of Fame In Support Of Wyoming Valley Challenger Baseball

The Luzerne County Sports Hall of Fame sponsored and accepted a grant from the AllOne Foundation and Charities on behalf of the Wyoming Valley Challenger Baseball program. The award was in the amount of $5012.00 and will be used for the Safety and Cooling Project at Evercor Field in Miners Mills. This Little League sponsored adaptive program is for individuals with physical or mental challenges.
The project will provide a medically safe environment for players and spectators
during the scheduled season. Outdoor misting and cooling stations will be created
for individuals who are predisposed to heat intolerance. Medical supplies such as an AED Defibrillator, and emergency supportive materials will be purchased to create an injury ready environment.
“This generous donation by AllOne Charities will go far in enhancing the well-being and healthy development of these children. What we have established is a safe experience for the participants and spectators, allowing for a measurably enriching collaboration,” stated chapter President Jim Martin.
