Wyoming Valley Challenger Little League Baseball

Wyoming Valley Challenger is a part of Challenger Little League Baseball. The league is run by a group of dedicated VOLUNTEERS. They donate a great deal of valuable time in meeting to conduct business year round, in addition to the work involved with setting up and conducting the games. We WELCOME anyone who wishes to get involved and help organize and run the league. It is rewarding.

The Challenger Division was established in 1989 as is Little League's adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and mental challenges. Any individual with a physical or intellectual challenge may participate. If am individual can participate in the traditional Little League Baseball or Softball program with reasonable accomodations they should do so. The Little League Challenger Division accomodates players ages 4 to 18; or up to age 22 if still enrolled in school. The Senior League Challenger Division accommodates players ages 15 and above (no maximum age).

LITTLE LEAGUE PA DISTRICT 16/31
Robert A Bertoni- District Administrator

May 5, 2020

Hello to our Little League communities.

We hope during this difficult time that you all remain healthy and safe. Please rest assure that our main priority and concern is the safety of our players, volunteers and our extended Little League families.

Your presidents and district staff have been working tirelessly to develop a safe plan for when, and if, we can begin play. Last week, Little League International cancelled all Regional and World Series tournaments for the 2020 season. This past weekend, the Pennsylvania State Association of District Administrators voted to cancel all 2020 sectional and state level tournaments. Although this is disappointing, it now allows time to develop and form some type of regular season. We continue to monitor the Pennsylvania Department of Health, CDC recommendations and receive guidance from Little League to determine a safe starting date and resumption guidelines.

As of today, we will continue to suspend all District 16/31 Little League activities. We are hopeful to determine a start date, or postponement of the season on or before June 3rd, 2020.
As your District Administrator, along with my staff and the eighteen league presidents, we will continue to work together to provide you with a decision that represents the safest and best interest of our entire Little League community.

For more information, please visit to www.littleleague.org for Coronavirus FAQ’s and the Little League Resumption of Play Plan. You can also review the Pennsylvania District 16-31 Facebook page for updated and important information.

Please remain safe at home!

Robert A Bertoni
Pennsylvania District 16/31 Administrator
