The Challenger Division was established in 1989 as a division of Little League to enable boys and girls with physical and mental challenges, ages 4-18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in high school, to enjoy the game of baseball.
In a Challenger game, each player gets a chance to bat. The side is retired when the offense has batted through the roster. Challenger Division uses "buddies" for the Challenger players. The buddies assist the Challenger players on the field, but whenever possible, encourage the players to bat and make plays themselves. The buddy is always nearby to help when needed.
Wyoming Valley Challenger is a part of Challenger Little League Baseball. The league is run by a group of dedicated VOLUNTEERS. They donate a great deal of valuable time in meeting to conduct business year round, in addition to the work involved with setting up and conducting the games. We WELCOME anyone who wishes to get involved and help organize and run the league. It is rewarding.
To contact us, please use the contact form. As stated all officers and Board Members are VOLUNTEERS!! Most have mentally or physically challenged children of their own in addition to their "other" children, WV Challenger Baseball Players. To this end, please keep this in mind when contacting the league. Please be courteous and patient. You will receive a prompt reply.
WVC Little League Baseball provides children with intellectual & physical challenges the opportunity to play Little League.
