Our team is a non-profit that supports special needs kids. A major source of funding was recently greatly decreased and the team needs financial support to continue serving our kids.
After years of having no field of our own we recently were provided a field in Wilkes-Barre's 'The Bog' but we have no resources to maintain the facilities and the field itself - not even lawn equipment.
The Challenger Division was established in 1989 as a division of Little League to enable boys and girls with physical and mental challenges, ages 4-18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in high school, to enjoy the game of baseball.
In a Challenger game, each player gets a chance to bat. The side is retired when the offense has batted through the roster. Challenger Division uses "buddies" for the Challenger players. The buddies assist the Challenger players on the field, but whenever possible, encourage the players to bat and make plays themselves. The buddy is always nearby to help when needed.
Volunteers donate a great deal of valuable time in meeting to conduct business year round. We WELCOME anyone who wishes to get involved and help organize and run the league. We are a non-profit with very limited respources and greatly welcome financial support from the community to support our amazing kids.
WVC Little League Baseball provides children with intellectual & physical challenges the opportunity to play Little League.
